And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove (expose) them.
Ephesians 5:11 KJV
Please excuse the picture to the left.
“I thought this was a blog run by Christians, what is the logo of the After School Satan Club doing there?!” you may be wondering. “Are they promoting the clubs?” God forbid! My purpose in posting the picture is not to bring undue attention to Satan, the Satanic Temple, or to this club, but to expose some of the Satanic symbolism in the logo so that many are not deceived, being ignorant of Satan’s devices (2 Cor. 2:11). Many of the clubs’ spokesmen, an offshoot of The Satanic Temple, claim they don’t actually worship Satan, but that he is merely a symbol of rebellion against “arbitrary” authority, not an actual being.
I believe the symbolism in this picture says otherwise. I pray this article be used for good and not evil.
First, look at the figure’s left hand. The sign it is making is known as the Sign of the Benediction. It can be seen in early “Christian” (read: Roman Catholic) art from the Byzantine and Medieval periods, but the gesture itself precedes those eras. In pagan circles, the gesture is known as the mano pantea and was used as a charm against the “evil eye.” It invoked the protection of the “parental spirits” Isis and Osiris. Could this indicate the removal of the children from the protection of their parents and placing them under the “protection” of the demonic entities Isis and Osiris? If that is even a remote possibility, then it is the duty of parents and adults to protect the children.
In art, either Christ or the saint depicted performs the sign with their right hand, but the figure in the above cartoon logo is making it with his left. This means he is not actually pronouncing a blessing (benediction) but a curse. Moreover, the left hand has always been associated with Satanic worship and the dark side of the occult, which has often been referred to the “left hand path.” The right hand path is representative of Satanism masquerading as Christianity, but the left hand path signifies open Satanism – black magic as opposed to white magic. The left hand path is also symbolized by the inverted (upside-down) pentagram, as seen in the bottom left corner (our left) of the image.
While its left hand is pointing upward, its right hand is pointing downward, an allusion to the occultic mantra, “as above so below.” This is a key phrase in the occult, and all systems of magic are said to be based on this incantation. The formula reads, in part: “That which is above is the same as that which is below…The universe is the same as God, God is the same as man…” Man is thought of as a reflection of God in heaven, and God as a reflection of man on earth. As we become more self-aware, more in tune with our higher consciousness, it teaches that we awaken to the realization that we are gods/God. This is the same lie the Serpent told Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” (Gen. 3:4-5)
The Serpent was proven to be a liar. When Adam and Eve ate the fruit, they did die; they immediately died spiritually, as a result of their separation from God. Eventually, they died physically without ever becoming gods. This is why Jesus said Satan was a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44).
Next, notice the spiral in its right eye. The spiral represents development, change over time, or the slow revelation of things hidden. New Age websites explain how we change and develop as we age. In light of this, I find it interesting that they include a spiral in the logo of a program directed towards children. This could indicate the secrets of Satanism are progressively revealed to the children as they grow older. The Satanic Temple claims they will not actively proselytize children to Satanism in these clubs. That may or may not be true, but if the child is interested in learning more about Satanism, I believe the facilitators are both able and willing to lead them into the “depths of Satan” (Rev. 2:24). These clubs were founded to counter the Good News Clubs (GNCs) (which should automatically tell the reader whose side they are actually on) because the Satanic Temple claims GNCs “indoctrinate” (read: evangelize) children. I believe this spiral indicates they will brainwash these children, albeit deceptively. The After School Satan clubs serve and will serve the purpose of desensitizing children, subtly indoctrinating them into Satanism.
The fact that the spiral is in the right eye is also significant. It is a sign of the Antichrist. Zechariah 11:17 says, “Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! The sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.” The figure’s right eye is “darkened”, meaning the eye is not functional and cannot see, just like Zechariah’s prophecy of the Antichrist. In many of the pictures where an individual (many times a celebrity) is covering one of their eyes, it most often will be their right eye, showing their allegiance to the Antichrist and his system.
There’s so much more symbolism to expose. Like the Baphomet – their depiction of the devil; the duality represented by the black and white picture; the esoteric symbolism behind the graduation cap; their use of the candy cane to seduce children, while actually giving them a curse, and so on. But I think I have presented enough information to show that The Satanic Temple is not to be trusted and to caution public school systems against allowing these After School Satan clubs into their schools.
Lastly, why should we believe them when they say they don’t worship the devil? Why else would an organization like this call itself by the name of an entity it claims to not even worship? Doesn’t Jesus unmask Satan revealing him to be a liar by nature, a master deceiver, and the father of lies (John 8:44)? Can we therefore really expect his followers to tell the truth? Obviously not.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
2 Corinthians 11:14-15 KJV
Other Satanists like Aleister Crowley and Anton LaVey taught Satanists should hide what they actually teach and practice. I believe these symbols, however, reveal their true agenda in plain sight. It may be easy to see these icons and dismiss the corresponding facts as coincidence. However, I believe that all these emblems present together indicate something more maleficent: they really do worship the devil. And if I’m wrong and these atheists don’t actually worship the devil, then they are sadly being used by him to accomplish his purposes. However, Jesus was revealed to defeat Satan and his works. We know He has won through the Cross of Calvary and His resurrection. Anyone who trusts in Him will be delivered from the power of Satan. “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8).
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. Ephesians 6:10-18
This blogpost can be summarized by the meme below.
We simply want to lead children into a life based on reason and logic, and not silly, primitive superstition. As long as the majority religion arranges special rights for religious activities and groups, we will make use of those same laws to bring the light of reason to the children of America.
Ave Satanas!

If most people knew what you really believe and practice, they would not allow Satanism in schools. I’ve only scratched the surface.

The problem with Christians is that you believe in fairy tales, not truth. You terrorize children with stories of some horrible place where they will burn for eternity if they don’t follow your made-up rules or believe in your invisible friend. Satanists do not worship ANY being. The Satanic Temple is an atheistic group that does not believe Satan is an actual being or deity. Satan is a fictitious character that is vilified in your fictitious book because he gave humanity KNOWLEDGE. Perhaps you could all do with a little bit of that, before you start making accusations. Or do Christians not understand the concept of “fact checking”?

No they do not worship a ” Satan”. The problem is that you believe that there is a ” Satan ” and they do not. The word Satan is used as a symbol and that is all. If you cared enough to research this for even five minutes you would know all of this.

I know they CLAIM to not believe in Satan. My contention is that they are lying. One has to look beyond their words to the symbols they use, which reveal what they truly believe.

Well Bible scholars believe that Jesus existed. Secular Bible scholars, that is. However I do know he was killed for his office, the crime of political sedition against Rome. The name was probably Yeshua or Yeshue, in Hebrew, as is spoken in the far more highly evolved than the United but divided States of America, Israel.

Christians use the symbol of Jesus on the cross. So I guess that means you believe in murdering people via crucifixion. See, it’s how you interpret the symbolism, not the symbols themselves. You’ve assigned MEANING to these symbols based on religious interpretation. But for those of us who have atheistic views, they don’t have the same MEANING. Sometimes you want to see the image of Jesus burned into your toast. But in the real world, it’s just toast.

And I have never seen the Lord Jesus in my toast.

it’s pretty simple, you want others to keep their religious practices out of public institutions, then keep yours out of them. Contrary to what you may believe, the Founding Fathers were pretty against religion in politics and public places. I mean, “In God We Trust” didn’t make it onto our currency until almost 100 years after America’s founding. We didn’t start printing it on our bills and nationally until 1957. Your great nation was founded by a bunch of masons who built a symbol of Liberty based off of LUCIFER THE LIGHT BEARER. Haha, you’re already going to hell buddy. Remember Sodom and Gomorrah? There’s not even a point at which to begin to engage with you. Your internal logical doesn’t allow your argument to be falsifiable (there is a similar issue with your religion). There is absolutely nothing that anyone could say that would change your mind, because you’ve already decided that anything that doesn’t agree with your stance is a lie. Ergo, there’s zero starting point for anything remotely resembling a discussion. That being the case, why bother with a comments section? Signed, utterly, truly, atheistic member of the Satanic Temple.

Oh the irony!
Ignorant people should refrain from claiming to fight ignorance while spewing even more ignorance from their ignorant mouths (or finger tips).
Satanism doesn’t pretend to hide anything. Our literature, ideology and symbolism is just as accessible as any other philosophy or religion. Your crusade to “decode” the symbolism is cute, but.. unnecessary. There’s a neat little tool called Google which, if used properly, will deliver quick results. There is also a website called Amazon where you can easily acquire books written on the subject – by ACTUAL Satanists! (You just have to scroll past all the BS books written by paranoid Christians.)
The Satanic Temple is acting as a civil rights organization. The First Amendment of the US Constitution states that the government is not to choose sides when it comes to religion, which means that when it comes to such things as these after school programs in public schools, it’s all or none. Just as the thought of After School Satan makes Christians uncomfortable, the thought of evangelical Christian clubs make us uncomfortable. Public schools are for teaching actual FACTS, not presenting archaic, disproven mythology as if they were facts.
In an ideal world, there would be no need for religious after school programs and they would not be allowed on school grounds. Instead, we should offer more philosophy-oriented programs in order to expose children to various ways of thinking and encourage them to think for themselves in order to be more well rounded human beings.
TST is merely using their religious freedom (yes, religious freedom is for ALL religions; it’s not a corrupt tool Christians can use to discriminate) to counteract programs that would teach children that in order to be good people they need to subjugate themselves to (the last in a LONG line of mythical entities called) deities.
The only threat After School Satan poses to anyone or anything is, oddly enough, the threat of removing ignorance and replacing it with factual knowledge of life and the world around is. That’s it! Nothing more. You need only fear this if you fear learning facts and free thought.

They do not worship Satan as an existing deity. They use the symbolism to show that superstitions has no value. People fear those symbols, and children are taught that these things has some supernatural evil power, and they grow believing in imaginary things that brings prejudice and intolerance against people who are different. The point of the satanists is to show that there are a lot of options to choose, that gospel-stereotiped way of life is not the only way of goodness, and it don’t even have inherent goodness in itself. Simply being there as a good person, but wearing satanic symbols like goats and pentagrams, is a way to show that theses symbols means nothing – what matters is how you treat the others.
In a world of religious opression, you may find freedom on heresy.
Love and light for you 🙂

The Satanists are wrong. Satan did not create us so he does not make the rules for us to live by. God did, so the only way to live is according to His laws. God defines what is good and the right way to live.

The problem I see with this interpretation of symbolism is that satanists may perform rituals and display symbols referencing satan and paganism without actually believing in either.
Anecdotally, I know a satanist and atheist with a baphomet inverted pentagram tattooed on his leg, and he believes in satan about as much as he believes in god – which is to say, not at all.
You seem to think that the satanists are using these symbols to covertly convey their “true beliefs,” but you don’t account for the possibility that they are actively co-opting the trappings of stereotypical satanism as a display and not a reflection of underlying belief.

Holy Crap! It took like 8 people explaining it in its entirety for you to realize that the whole point of TST is literally the antithesis of your hypothesis? Obviously it’s not covert…they have an inverted pentagram in their fricking logo. It’s appropriation. As previous posters have said….I guess sarcasm is not your forte. Hail Santa! Oh…and I’ll be clear here as you seem to be confused rather easily…No, I do not worship Santa. I wouldn’t quite call myself an atheist but I’m somewhere between there and a agnostic. Mind you I was raised a Christian. And no…I don’t need you to tell me to find Jesus. Already found him. He’s great and all, but his dad in the old testament; man, what a dick!! Main reason I’ll never be religious again. Well that and the continual contradictions between the not only the old and new testament, etc., etc. Honestly, if you really read the bible (and I mean, really read it) I don’t see how you can have faith. Mayhap one day I’ll find spirituality, but until then….peace and happiness brother!

And Biblically speaking, you never were a Christian. “They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.” (1 John 2:19) In other words, you never truly had faith. Your parents may have been Christians, but you never were.

Jimmy, clearly your mind is made up and anything anyone says to you will be irrelevant. You are not worth arguing with nor is it worth you arguing with me… however, I will say this; If Christians want to demand religious rights, they must also respect those same rights to other religious groups. Wether it be Hindu, Islam, Judaism, or satanism. All religions deserve the same rights and treatments. Just because you feel that your religious beliefs are superior to others does not give you the right to hinder others to their religious beliefs… I highly doubt that it’s Christian parents that are sending their children to after school Satan clubs, so why even bother trying to preach at Christians about it? All you’re accomplishing is the spread of fear and superstition…

I love how what this blog post really reveals is that you know precisely jack about your own religion.
The right hand path a Christian concept, not anything to do with Satan masquerading as anything. “As above, so below” is a pretty ubiquitous concept in religions of all sorts, and is most notable in Christianity in the passage where Jesus tells Peter “whatsoever you bind on Earth shall also be bound in Heaven”
I’m sure I could call out more examples your complete ignorance of your religion, but I’m not so masochistic to read more of this drivel.

There is no such thing as the right hand path in the Bible or in Christianity. And there is no correlation between the Biblical passage you cited and the occult meaning of the phrase “as above, so below.”
LikeLike
While the term “right hand path” originates outside of Christianity, the idea of “right=righteous, left=bad” is ancient. It’s why the Latin for left is sinister, which was taken into French as the word sinistre, or, well, sinister, ie, underhanded and evil. The *idea* of the right hand path is thoroughly Christian, with Jesus sitting “on the right hand of the father.” While it’s not scriptural, I guarantee that the straight and narrow path in Pilgrim’s Progress was portrayed as being on the right. The term may be occult, but the *idea* is very much a part of christianity.
Much the same is the concept of “As above, so below.” Originally, it referred to the philosophical belief that the world was structured along some divine geometry, and it comes from ancient Greece, Plato, I believe. It is very much a part of Christianity, with many sects aspiring to create an Earthly Kingdom of God. And then there’s the aforementioned scriptural passage about binding things, which very much *is* related to the idea.

The difference, however, being that in Christianity, right is associated with favor and righteousness, while left is associated with non-favor or evil; while in the occult, right and left are just two different ways of practicing it. In other words, Christianity would represent the straight and narrow path, or the “right hand path” (to borrow the term), while the broad road/ left hand path would represent every other religion. There is no “left hand path” way of practicing Christianity, unlike there is in the occult.
